The important thing is to document the Cancer with the VA. I can speak from experience Summer 2002 I was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the mouth. VA said thanks for your service but it is not on the list , Nam came back to bite me. I am now rated @ 100%  PTSD for the last (4) years.

I came Country June 16 1967 with orders to 196th at 90th Repo they had to figure out
where they were.

I have many Marines in my circle of Vetrans. Bottom line "we" are always the best is a
game of one up. They had piss poor equipment and Heart or B@@@s of Brass. I was asked by Keith Nolan why I went to the 1st of the 1St Armd CAV

Wheels, Machine guns, Lawn Chairs , and Beer a much easier way to crusie the Que Son.

Your actual medical record would have been at the battalion aid station. The field medic if he had time would have written a treatment tag , if not he would have put an M for morphine on your forehead. In an ideal world a clerk would recorded you in an admissions book ( didn't always Happen). A record of treatment should have been given to you at release from hospital for your record.

I had an Infantrymen attached to B troop 1/1 ACR with a script "release to unit light duty" on crutches show up at the aid station. Mounting a tank or track with crutches is tough. I made a command decision
and notified the Troop he was assigned to the aid station for 10 days. I recorded it in his record , became a bud , and he died Jun 16 ...

I think it would be better to book airfare with a one day layover in Seattle

We should also think of arranging transport from the hotel to the dock for departure or does anyone know if the Cruise coordinator will handle the logistics

Here is hoping a Blonde Blue eyed honey from HLS wants give me a good manual

A point of record to show how a person could move before the Green Machine caught up. I came in Country to C Med 8th Spt. Jun 67 was on the pennisula at 4/31 Aid Station next day for a week or so No Orders. Went over to HHC196th Aid Station No Orders, Out to 1/1Cavalry Jan 68. Offical records had me at C Med until Feb68.

The Green Machine at 23rd Admin never issued orders to go home. Oh our bad we couldn't find you at 196th ( gave port call to Admin Section Sgt.)

My point is the record is not always Gospel. OBW I left Chu Lai on Standby Orders the day after I went to 23 Admin and said it is time for me to Deros

But remember I was a Medic and people care for you if their life depends on you
