Message Greetings Chip Hummel of Pennsylvania. I read your post, and I wish the

best to you and your family. I can assure you that on June 6, 1970, Delta

Company and Alpha Company of the 4/3lst Infantry, l96th L.I.B., attempted

to walk off the finger of LZ West. It is my recollection that Alpha Company

took the lead, and suffered 3 K.I.A. The C.O. of our company(Delta) lost his

leg to a mortar, and his R.T.O. was killed. I was there. I know. Bob Delzell

is also a great guy, and he was there also.
