Message Went to Nam with advance party in Aug. 66. Had been a DI at Dix and was

reassigned to Devens. One of my Dix buddies, Tim Olsen, went with me

and was assigned to B/3/21. In early Feb. 67,2/7 or 2/9 Tim was KIA. I

found out while in ZAMA Hosp.
Does anyone have details as to how he

was killed? He was from upstate NY.

Message Bill Russell
I am not sure who fired on Chu Lai. I know that they walked

the incoming down the runway and reached a predetermined point and

elevated hitting the Bomb Dump. Large pieces of the bombs fell all over

our AO. The only injury was that the explosion knocked a refrigerator filled

with beer cans over onto the S1 Sgt.

Message Jim Gray

Thank You for the information. RVN was a long time ago

and I have thought about it only rarely. My memory is foggy on many

incidents. I missed the gathering in KY but hope to be able to make future

gatherings as the Lord is willing. I have many slides/pictures of RVN that I

will scan onto a CD/DVD and send to the 196th Org.

Message Update on the USPS.

It was not, and is not, my intention of posting

something I know to be false, but now I'm not so sure the information I got

was correct. Before posting my message about troops in Iraq now having to

pay postage, I had confirmed that with 2 local post offices, the Dallas

customer service center and 1-800-ASK-USPS. Now, however, I can't get

anyone to tell me what the policy is, one way or the other, and neither can I

find any information on the subject at the USPS website.
