Message I was in 3/21. We referred to them as gooks and dinks both. I think the word

dink was for dinky as they were small people. Dinky Dau meant drunk.

Message In 2/1 the VC were referred to as Dinks; probably from Dinky Dau. Now I

hear the term Gook, but it was not used around us.

Message a book I own,but haven't read yet is titled"Road of 10,000 Pains-the

Destruction of the 2nd NVA Div by the US Marines in 1967. It may have

details of the area around Lz Center, but the index does not have Center

listed.Went out there in Nov.67,but the B btry's position was already in

place, and it seemed to have been there for a while.

Message Ronnie, A Co establised two OP's down by the river to watch for enemy

movement a few days befor the Que Son battle. I was in charge of one of

the 4 man OP's so luckily missed the battle. We were pulled back to Center

and joined back up with the Company. We recieved a lot of replacements

right after that and moved to Colt for about a month to get our stuff

together. Then went right into another big battle with the Cav. Stoney
