Message Hey LTG Wetzel,

I remember Nui Chom well,I was with C co. It was

our tunnel rat (Ernie) that discovered the medical facility and all the blue

sweatshirts . Humping up the side of that mountain and clearing a LZ for

supplies was no small feat.
Doc Mercer

Message Jim, glad you made it. I was XO C 3/82 on LZ Karen with 3 105's in support.

I remember being asked for smoke screen for dust off if I had enough smoke

to shoot and said just give the comands. I had over 100 rounds of smoke as

I had earlier given false ammo counts to build my supply up. Before the

battle my Division commander had comeout to LZ Karen and when he saw

how much ammo I had on hand chewed my A.. BIG TIME! As it happened

when the battle began I had enough and told BN give the commands
