Message try again, sorry if repeat. Back to the Ballentine beer, rumour was we got it

because owner's son was with 196th at Tay Ninh in '66. we got it free

becuase it was expired in USA. It was rusted because shipped on open

decks, plus no aluminim beer cans yet. Best beer? when we worked with

Filipinos at Tay Ninh, San Miguel beer, and they had ice. they also made

one mean machette out of vehicle leaf springs.

Message greetings fellow 196 LIB ers...I was the 1st platoon squad leader in the

1/46 196 LIB and " B" company...who humped all night to get

to Maryann that night 3-28-1970...peace be too all our gone brothers, and

God speed , and health to the rest of us...we arrived @ 8:00 in the morning

to find HELL ..the 409th NVA pulled off a well planned attack, and dealt us

a bad blow...they walked right up the road of the trash dump, and

unhooked the trip flares, and claymores...they had been watching us.

Message When Keith Nolan(the Author) asked why I left C Med 8th Support to go out

to 1/1 ACR . My answer was less Brass &bs, the smell of diesel as you

rode, and a layer of beer & soda over the sand bags and under the

ammo.

Always a Charger and a Blackhawk
