Following long months of training, the entire 196th Light Infantry Brigade embarked in Boston for a month long, 12000 mile trip to the Republic of Vietnam. These are actually two voyages, one aboard the Darby and one on the Patch. I was on the Darby and have done some research over the years about the ship and the trip. I am not sure if there should be a separate Category for each vessel and its units or just one with sub-categories. I think there may be many memories out there that should be shared. Or not. Let me know how to get going and I'll begin with some information about the Darby. |

Thanks Jim, we are still trying to gather information on what the most needed categories for discussion should be. I will keep this suggestion in mind when we set up the categories. Maybe a sub-heading under the year (1966), or maybe just a heading for "Boat People". By the way, I was on the Darby. |
