just found out they do about 30 funerals a day at Arlington......i was fortunate enought to be able to visit arlington back in 1999....bad day, chains saws buzzing everywhere, tour buses in and out all day long....i did see some famous headstones including someone i knew (Greg Boyington, MOH) but what bothered me (just me i know) is that i saw headstones of non vets (spouses) and even children/babies of deceased vets buried there. It wouldnt have bothered me as much if space was not an issue.....30 burials a day |

I had about a year left upon return to country and qualified to be with the Third Herd at Ft Myer. We would spend all day and nite if necessary putting a flag out on every grave in Arlington. Then go back tuesday and pick them all up. |
