It turns out that "God dialed that one desire" is all over internet search engines, all in reference to this poem and going back years.

I am no closer to understanding it's meaning than I was before.

I have emailed the president of the CIB Association for his input.

Any other ideas?

They really ought to put quotation marks around "light" since it was anything but for the individual.  Yeah, I know, it meant no heavy high maintenance machinery....  Just semi-disposable men.
