I took both pills religiously. Now that you mention it, stillkit, I have not been bitten, either, by mosquitos anywhere near as much as most other people, including blood relatives who have not taken the pills. It'll be interesting to see what others have to say. |

Had falcip. took both pills everytime they were given out. I live in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and a mosquito will fly from Savannah, Ga. to bite me. Go figure. |

It's said that the malaria pills we took has made us unattractive to mosquitos for life.
That's been my experience. They land, but rarely bite. Anyone else noticed that? |

all I remember is if it was your turn to burn-off the shitters the day after we took our pill, you were in a world of hurt :-) I watch a show on tv where this guy goes out and does dirty jobs. I have never seen him do anything that matches burning and stirring shit in diesel fuel, in a 30 gallon metal barrel on a 110* degree day. Does anyone know if our troops deployed to Iraq and Afghan have to do this?

Maybe i was in the field too long but i was fortunate to NEVER have to burn shit. I do know some volunteered doing it so that they would not have to go out on patrol while on LZ West...i cant imagine volunteering for that duty. |

Yes, the present day guys and gals are still burning shit. |
|
I'm not sure if you refer to the pills or the burning. With typical command unconcern, the current practice is to burn everything surplus, with huge health consequences (denied, of course). |
