they may have the VFW magazine online. I simply dont know .... they had a story about major sports figure that served in Vnam...of course most of them were not famous during their time of service......a few names i recognized right away (im not a serious sports fan)....of course Co C's Rocky Bleier (NFL) was mentioned...he came at the  "meet and greet" tent on Baldy in June 1969 and was wounded severely in Aug 1969.

I think ive heard of the next man......his name is Bobby Jones (baseball) and he served in Arty with 3rd 82nd Field Arty .  I find it interesting in the story they the author says he was stationed on LZ SIberia and that it was the FARTHEST westerly US fire support base in South Vietnam....im sure the author was talking about the period he served (Dec 1969 to Jan 1971 - i think they meant 1970).  I gently question that because we built LZ Mellon in the summer of 1968 and we were there a few months...i dont know when our Co C or whoever was there left Mellon....at the time our Plat leader told us we were in Laos (checking the landscape...ha ha) but later they changed their minds about where we were...

The other guy i know from sports was Roger Staubach(NFL) and he was stationed in Chu Lai from 66 to 67....he was in charge of supplies for the navy.

This man i never heard of but he was an arty office on LZ Center from Feb 1968 to Sept 1969) and his name was Brian T "Buddy" Allin (PGA Golf).
It says he died of various forms of cancer  possibly caused by exposure to Agent Orange.

always interesting Vnam articles in that VFW magazine.......any of you guys served with any of them?
