Greetings folks.  I was with D Co 3/21 from Nov 71 - Mar 72.  I was the platoon leader for Kelso platoon, and for the last month +, the company XO.  Glad to see this forum taking off.

Ken, the life membership dues will be in the mail this week.  The recent newsletter was great.  Cool to see pics of Chu Lai and surroundings as they are now.  I was there originally with A Co 1/6, 198th Bde, 23rd Div before I became a Charger.

Take Care - Don

My name is,
Terry Fowler was in C co 4/31, 196th L.I.B. for seven months and was in
the battle at Nui Chom, I was 18 at the time, We ate thanksgiving dinner
up there afterwards. I joined the recon unit in March and we operated out
of LZ West till I left in July of 69. My nickname in Recon was snuffy, because
I chewed tobacco. It kept me calm for when we moved around in the jungle
at night. I retired in 1991 after twenty-three years of service. I am proud to
have served with a wonderful bunch of warriors in our younger days.

Terry Fowler a BIG Welcome to the forum ...
I too was a C 4/31 man...by the time you were on Nui Chom i was on Baldy at our supply tent filling up M16 magazines and looking for M60 barrels to replace the ones that burned up in the battle.  I Was in the field from March 68 to Oct 68...it is likely we met up on baldy when you joined the company...if we did meet in the rear I would be the one to advise you and others to get rid of the aftershave lotion etc ...
I doubt you remember me but if you do...id love to hear about it...i was also the one that took the mail and supplies out....spent new years eve in Antenna Valley (LZ Sooner?) and i still recall the flares at night celebrating New Years.
Ill send you the link to our album (online) i KNOW you will know many on there...
thanks
PS check your PM message for the link.
