came home from Nam with severe headaches. Now they are even worse. I'm on 10% disability for headaches. I'm going to apply to increase the rate of disability.  Any info would be helpful. Thanks Dave

David,
Did you have any cause identified for the headaches? Were you involved in any incidents that might have caused them?

I had headaches when I first got out, but never attributed them to Vietnam. Over the years I've had other symptoms of TBI, but the VA never examined me for that. I was in three armored personnel carriers (M113) that hit mines. One was big enough to penetrate the floor.

I've had VA personnel downplay "mines" to me, saying that the current "IED's" are more damaging. WTF, they are exactly the same thing...

I'm thinking of making a claim for TBI because TBI has the same symptoms as PTSD, but the classification carries compensation for long term care in the event that I get Alzheimer's.

Most of us remember the times when we have had our "bell rung," from seeing stars to being totally knocked out.
I imagine being thrown around the inside of an armored vehicle that has been hit by some kind of explsive must be among the worst.
I am surprised that TBI's and plain old concussions, such as in sports, are not considered as a continuum.  The long term effects of them are just now being recognized.

In 2006 I went through a series of diagnosis. At that time the VA said I had too many concussion's,  as they could not find any other reason's for the headaches.

Outstanding.....i have no complaints  about my care as well.  Due to volume of vets needing care in our town it is very slow to get some appointments.  Im talking a year to get eye surgery (cataracts) done.  That same local facility has an excellent reputation for patient care.
Hopefully they will have hire more doctors.  When my hearing aid tubes need replacing it take 4+weeks
time to get them back. I asked for spare tubes and no go.  I guess they are very busy

KEN,  I had an MRI. No tumor. Doctor is going with concussion's. The first prescription caused  excessive side effects.  On to more drug's. Dave
