Ron, if you see this again would you please leave some more details. I tried finding him on Facebook without success. I thought I found you and tried sending you a PM from my wife's FB account but I did not get a reply so it may have been to the wrong account.

Thanks,

Earl

When I joined C3/21 Capt. Wolfer was the CO.

When exactly did you join C Co? So Lt Ross must have taken over one of the other companies. I know Capt Anderson was wounded June 13th, 70 but I don't remember if it was bad enough to take him out of command of the company. No matter how hard I try, I really don't even remember being there from June70 to Sept70 when I went back to the states.

Thanks guys! Jack, I had similar experiences on returning as most of us did. It wasn't a good time. I couldn't use the "I was drafted" defense though since I enlisted. I was 17 years old and had just graduated from high school when I signed up. I thought I was being smart by enlisting and getting a non-combat MOS so I signed up for Radio Mechanic school. After basic and AIT, I went to NCOIC and was an 18 year old E-5 with a Commo Chief MOS, 32G40, I think it was. I knew I was going to Nam but figured I would be in a rear area. Wrong! I was assigned to HHC, 3/21 but only long enough to get the paperwork done transferring me to C Co. I tried to explain that I wasn't trained for combat, that I was supposed to be a Communication Chief...

Do you guys remember who the company comanders and platoon leaders were for Charlie Co 3/21 from 69 thru 70?

I arrived in Sept 69, but don't remember the name of the Co Commander at that time. I remember after him it was Denis O'neal, then Anderson, then maybe Lt Ross? Or maybe Lt Ross took over one of the other Companies.

Platoon Leaders I think I remember were Lt Ross and Lt Jim Kirkpatrick.

Eddie, sorry I don't remember you but I was there for some of the same time you were. When in June did you arrive? Were you a replacement after the hit we took on June 13th?

Are you looking for anyone in particular?

Capt Dennis O'Neil was our company commander sometime late 69 or early 70. I received a Chriatmas card from him in 1970 which had a return address from St Davids, Pa. Does anyone else remember him or have you had any contact with him?

I hope it is appropriate to say "Hey" to all! I was with C 3/21 from Sept 69 to Sept 70. I've had some contact with other members from that time and they do a lot better job than I do to try and stay in touch. I just received the latest newsletter and it prompted me to check out the site again. I tried so desperately for so many years after returning home to forget Nam and succeeded too well. For about the last ten years I've tried just as hard to remember. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about some aspect of my time there and all the brave kids/men that I served with.
