Every year around this time...i always think of the 4 men who were KIA in our firefight of May 1968. It was not on the network news that week.. I doubt it was even in the print news. If it anything was said, they probably said something about "light combat" (i despise that term) but that week we lost one F4 Phantom(pilot ejected of the ocean we were told), One A1Skyraider (pilot did not survive) and 4 heroes did not make it home. 4 days of hell.

| the local cemeteries do display a ton of flags.up and down my block i see a few...i have mine up the 25 ft pole... |

| Jim, Frenchie Great job with the flags. There are more than average in my neighborhood. I run mine up a 20' pole with the Army flag below it, but only on special days. Flag day will be next. The Sarasota National Cemetery is a few miles away. What a spectacular and somber sight. Vibrant blue sky, green grass, white headstones and flags at every one of them. It truly puts the meaning of Memorial Day in its proper perspective. |

Our small vet cemetery has flags on every headstone/grave
Yes FLAG DAY IS JUNE 14......on Flag Day, Independence Day i run my flag up with little flags every 5 feet on my front lawn...about 10 + flags covers the area well... |

| Frenchie, my brother does the same thing, runs a flag up the pole and puts small flags across the front. It really looks good and very patriotic. I think I'll join you guys and do the same on Flag Day and the 4th. |

| You are right, Frenchie, it truly is a beautiful sight. As a bonus, we always have, at the very least, a slight breeze here in Sarasota. It keeps the flags a flutterin'! |
