Just finished up completing a dd0149 to correct my dd214 from 2 awards being left off.  Have all the documentation with it, so will see how long it takes  to see any results.

BTW, just got the info that the VA is going to give me some hearing aids.  How much hearing loss do you have to qualify for in order to receive any disability.  Right now, I have 60% due to the ischemic heart attack.

Tinitus will give you 10% and usually comes with hearing loss. Actual hearing loss has to be fairly high to get any compensation.
In my case I got 10% for the tinitus and service connected hearing loss of zero %, but that's enough to get hearing aids. The hearing aids work great, by the way.

I have TWO hearing aids for hearing loss and Tinnitus.  They gave me 15%.  Took 3 different test because the left hand didnt know what the right hand was doing.
Also I had to have corrections made to my DD214...took a couple months to straighten that out.  You should be aware that you dont get a new DD214.  You get a piece of paper (forget the number) that corrects ONLY what needs to be corrected.  You should keep the old DD214 and that correction together.  In my case i went down to the hall of record and recorded the new form as well.

As Ken said, the hearing aids are GREAT.   They told me that down the line if my hearing got worse, i could ask to be re evaluated for a higher $%%

I must of done something wrong. I took the hearing test at the Va, got my hearing aids. Filed for tinnitus and was turned down. Was told that my tinnitus was from working in the mining industry for 30 years. Filed a appeal, but haven't heard anything yet.

Well, I just noticed I did something stupid....  Sat down and was reviewing over the paperwork and noticed that somehow I had erased the return address line when I filled out the PDF form on the computer.  Printed out another set and sending it off with a note in it explaining the problem.  Guess this will really make a mess of things.

Your work place could be the problem -- unless you worked in the office for 30yrs.

i worked in an office environment for 34yrs...

My platoon provided security for a 175 Battery for two days and nights.
We were only about 100 meters down range of those monstrously loud and long guns and they fired missions most of the day and H&I all night.
The crews must have had some kind of hearing protection but my ears have rung ever since.

On Operation Attleboro, in Nov 1966, our company moved to Soui Da, near Nui Ba Den. We arrived late in the day and were positioned in front of the 175's. My position, was behind a huge log, but directly underneath the barrel of a 175. I didn't think too much about it, but they got a fire mission during the night, and when they fired, the muzzle blast literally bounced us off the ground and singed the hair on my arms.
I attribute that incident (and three later mine explosions) with my tinitus.

I filed for a hearing loss as soon as I got out in 1967, and the hearing test consisted of a VA doctor sitting across his desk from me asking if I could hear what he was saying. When I told him I could, he denied me any hearing loss.

Luckily I had a hearing test in 1967 for employment, and 29 years later was able to use a copy of that test to finally get a claim of 10% for tinitus awarded.

I love it Ken, reminds me of my physical to get out.  the Doctor said can you hear me?
can you see the picture on the wall behind me?  Yes to both from me.  then my blood pressure was low so he told me to go run around the building and come back.  passed with flying colours :-)

After returning from Nam i became a Drill Sergeant. We spent many days on the firing line with no hearing protection. In my records when i was given the refrad hearing test it shows a loss of 15% hearing. I think i will take that to the VA and see what happens.

Frenchie. We were not permitted to wear protection. They were afraid that we would not hear the commands to start or cease fire.
I wonder if things have changed?

Heck, I'm deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other one......

Who do I need to see to get disability for hearing loss...
Got my right ear blown out in Nam. Never have been able to hear in that one... the other one is going fast.
