Ok..........so maybe I was "attached" to the 175th engineers....wore the same shoulder patch as the 196th LIB....but the Center for Military History says the 175th Engineers left Nam Dec of '67...and were back for the month of June 1972.....does anybody remember a bridge company in their perimeter on Freedom Hill late 71 into 72??????? Perhaps I have been going wrong from the start.....but my 214 says HHC 196th Inf.....I have my complete service record and that is the only unit it shows for Nam......I guess I will just say the heck with it....thanks y'all, take care...

Check on facebook under Americal Division Veterans Association and you can probably find someone with info you need. The 26th engineers were there too. |

Ah........thanks Fletch..........I am just a bit impatient and sometimes clueless on navigating the web.....and I didn't want to join Facebook-I found out I didn't need to-and I got an email off to americal......and the USARMY.....this thing is really bugging me............maybe some day I will find out what I'd like to know.....I would really like to get in touch with some of the men from Nam but I need to know which outfit we were with..."attached"....Provisional.....to the 196th LIB.... |
