I probably knew you since I knew all the rest of those guys.  Doyle posts here occasionally.

What is your name?

I have my pictures posted here:

Hi Neil,

Your name seems familiar though I can't really place you.  We obviously were together since we have pictures of the same people and events.  I couldn't identify myself in any of your pictures though they sure brought back memories.

Welcome home.

Jim

Jim, great pictures.  I love the pay stub, you guys were rich!  I think my pay was about $128, with $100 going home and $28 going to poker games :-)

Jim, I forgot to add.  The comments you made on your induction orders about the Marine Sgt.?  When I got inducted in '65 they lined us up, had us count off by 3's, then had all the 3's step forward.  A Marine Sgt. stepped out and said: "congratulations men, you are now United States Marines", and off they went.  Three of us had gone in on the buddy plan, so much for the buddy plan :-(

I was a three......  got into a tug-of-war with gunny when I whipped out my little card that said I was a two year army volunteer for the draft.  Glad I never saw him again

When I was drafted in March of 1971 they we're pulling all the Marines out of Vietnam.  Had I been drafted into the Marines I would have missed all the excitement.  Having made it through intact, I'm glad I'm glad I got the experience.  But there were a few times over there when I thought maybe I should have stuck up my hand.

GREAT PICS
thanks for posting

I was in Alpha. I got medevaced back to the 95th hospital at China Beach the day before typhoon Hester hit. It flooded the quonset hut ward we were in so they evaced us, first to ClarkAFB in the Philippines, then I went to the Naval hospital on Guam. from there back to Brook at FtSam.
